When Mike Osborn and Jeff Cleary teamed up back in 1990 to start Catalyst, they had a very specific vision. They believed then, as they do today-if we offer our clients a unique perspective-smart strategies, exceptional service and winning execution, they will experience the value of working with us. Not to mention, the entire process is fun for everyone involved. After all, what's science without the soul?

"What's the insight?"

Mike cut his teeth in the business at an early age; while other teens bagged groceries, Mike was hard at work at a direct mail production company. He continued to hone his skills in direct marketing after graduating from St. John Fisher College and when the time came for something new, starting his own business was the next logical step.

Today, Mike is not only Catalyst's managing director, he is also a member of the Direct Marketing Association, serves on the Agency Council's Strategic Advisory Committee, has been an ECHO Award judge and spent more than two decades as a board member of the Advertising Council of Rochester. Mike is the immediate past Board chair and current chair of the Governance committee for Mary Cariola Children's Center-a place that is near and dear to his heart-and from which he recently received the Cariola Award and the Special Friends of the Children Award.

Mike's die-hard commitment applies to every aspect of his life. When he isn't at work or working on behalf of the community, he enjoys winding down with Jan, his wife of 30 years, and their two daughters at their summer home on Conesus Lake. And as the oldest of five kids, he doesn't mind when the rest of the family decide to drop in for some R & R as well.
